Her role as Ashley Banks in The Fresh Prince of Bel Air is her most well-known. At the age of four she began singing, and soon was able to gain some fame through her mother's request for permission to send her to Sesame Street auditions. She began acting as a regular performer in 1985 at the age of 6 aged child on Sesame Street, a PBS children's television show. Her acting career continued in New York City with many productions such as Fences which was a Broadway production, and Orfeo del Campo that was Off-Broadway's production. At seven, she won Star Search. She received the rating of four stars when she performed for the second time.
